LIVER

Liver is the largest gland present in the human body. It is deep red or brown coloured to lobed structure present in the abdominal cavity. It secretes bile juice which is stored in the transparent gall bladder. From the gall bladder bile is transported to deudenum through the common bile duct. Bile is yellowish green coloured fluid because of the presence of to pigments and biliverdin and bilirubin. These pigments are produced by The breakdown of hemoglobin of worn out RBCs. It also contains some salts such as sodium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, sodium glycocholate and sodium taurocholate.

MENSTRUATION

HYDROCARBONS AND ITS TYPES (Class 10th)

♧ HYDROCARBONS  ♧         ¤ A compound made up of hydrogen and carbon is called hydrocarbon.   ¤ Types of hydrocarbons:-   > Saturated hydrocarbon   > Unsaturated hydrocarbon                   ☆SATURATED HYDROCARBON ☆ ¤ A hydrocarbon in which the carbon atoms are connected by only single bonds is called a saturated hydrocarbon.            >Alkanes is other name of hydrocarbon          > the general formula of saturated hydrocarbon or alkanes is CnH2n +2  where n is the number of carbon atoms in one molecule of the Alkane.                    ☆USATURATED HYDROCARBON ☆  ¤ A Hydrocarbon in which the two carbon atoms are connected by a 'double bond' or a 'triple bond' is called an unsaturated hydrocarbon.    > There are two types of unsaturated hydrocarbons:-          ▪︎ Alkenes:-An unsaturated hydrocarbon in which the two carbon atoms are connected by a 'double bond' is called an alkene. > The general formula of an alken

CELL MEMBRANE

Image
●CELL MEMBRANE    The detailed structure of the membrane was studied only after the advent of the electron microscope in 1950s.Meanwhile, chemical studies on the cell membrane, especially in human red blood cells enabled, the scientist to deduce the possible structure of plasma membrane. ● These studies show that the cell membrane is mainly composed of lipids and proteins. The major lipids are phospholipids that are arranged in a bilayer. Also the lipids are arranged within the membrane with the polar head towards the outer side and the hydrophobics tails towards the inner part. This ensure that the nonpolar tail of saturated hydrocarbons is protected from the  aqueous environment.   《MOSAIC MODEL OF CELL MEMBRANE/PLASMA MEMBRANE 》
